The new Barclays Arrival World Mastercard with No Annual Fee

Barclaycard has recently released a slew of solid credit card offers that can earn the average consumer thousands of points and miles good for free travel redemption. There are two versions of the Arrival World MasterCard, but the one we’re looking at today stands out because it comes with NO ANNUAL FEE! I’m a huge fan of no annual fee cards that come with a big signup bonus and still earn you points multipliers on everyday purchases. You’ll rapidly accrue points with this card because it lets you earn double points on common spending categories.  So lets take a look at the nitty gritty of the Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard — No Annual Fee Card.

20k Point Signup Bonus – Consumers can automatically start earning a significant number of points after completing a relatively easy spend requirement in the first 3 months of having your card. You’ll get 20,000 points (worth $200) after making $1,000 in purchases on your card after 90 days. That’s a substantial amount of time to hit this low spend requirement. Simply use your card at the grocery store or when you go out to eat and you should have no problem getting there. I spend on average close to $1,000 a month between my travel and eating habits alone. The best part is, that 20,000 point bonus alone is worth $200 towards your next travel experience.

0% Introductory APR on purchases for the first 12 Months – This is huge! Your first year using the Arrival World Mastercard comes with a 0% introductory APR term. That’s a pretty lengthy intro term for a points earning credit card. Despite the intro rate, you should ALWAYS pay off your balance in full each month. The Arrival World MasterCard will treat you well if you’re responsible with your credit. Once the intro period ends, your APR will become 14.99% or 18.99% depending upon your credit history and profile.

2x Points on Travel – Very attractive to the consumer who travels frequently and on par with other top travel cards like the Sapphire Preferred. It’s important to note that “travel” is defined in a multitude of ways. If you spend money in any of the following categories, you’ll be earning 2x the points.

  • Cab rides
  • Airlines
  • Travel agencies and tours
  • Hotels, motels and fine resorts
  • Cruises
  • Passenger Railways
  • Car Rental Agencies

2x Points on Dining – Another very common category spending category.  Consumers who spend ANY amount on dining, which ranges from fine restaurants to fast food will automatically earn 2x the points on all purchases.

NO Foreign Transaction fees and NO Mileage caps – This is almost unheard of for a no annual fee, points earning credit card. Travel globally with the Arrival World MasterCard and maintain peace of mind knowing you wont be charged unneccesary foreign transaction fees. On top of that, your points will continue to stack without limitation.

Get 10% of your points / miles back when you redeem them for travel – An uncommon perk for a no annual fee card, when you redeem your points earned with the Arrival World MasterCard, you’ll automatically get 10% of those points credited back into your account.  Separately, you can redeem your points as a statement credit toward any airline.  No black out dates and seat restrictions are non-existent.  Common mile redemption categories include airlines, hotels, cruise lines and car rentals.  Visit the Arrival World MasterCard secure application page for a full list of your redemption options.

It’s a Mastercard – Mastercard is accepted almost everywhere world-wide.  Travel unrestricted and know that your credit card isn’t going to fail you when you need it most.

Free Subscription to Tripit Pro Mobile – Being a cardmember with the Barclaycard Arrival World MasterCard – No Annual Fee grants you automatic enrollment into the Tripit Pro mobile service.  Tripit allows you to organize and stay up to date on your travel arrangements from your mobile phone.  Get information on flight connections, cancellations, gate changes, baggage claim and more with any airline.  You can also view re booking options and track of your points with frequent flyer programs.  These are just a few of the benefits that come with this automatic FREE enrollment – about a $50 annual value.

Do the miles you accrue (via dining, travel, etc) ever expire? If so, what are the details and length of time involved with expiration?

      Hey Amanda,

Actually, Barclays points don’t expire. Another awesome perk about this card and another thing to not have to worry about. Per the terms of this particular card, “Miles Expiration: As long as your account remains open and in good standing, your miles (including Carry-on Miles) will not expire.”
