Credit Card Offers

Chase-Sapphire-Preferred-Credit-CardChase Sapphire Preferred

The infamous Chase Sapphire Preferred card, as it seems to have become, is by far one of the best credit cards out there if you like to travel, eat, and earn rewards. Most people like these things. Right now, Chase is offering a 40,000 point signup bonus after you spend $3,000 in the first 3 months of card membership. That 40,000 point bonus equates to free flights, cash back, or hotel stays. You earn 2x points on Travel (which includes airfare, cabs, rental cars, hotels, etc) and 2x points on dining (from fastfood to the fanciest Brazilian steakhouse). In addition, you get 20% off travel bookings through their Ultimate Rewards program, no foreign transaction fees and a customer service phone number that takes you DIRECTLY to a person. The downside to this card is that it comes with a $95 annual fee, BUT, it’s waived for the first year.

In our humble opinion, this card is worth a try for the first year simply because of the sign up bonus. Factor in the additional benefits, and it’s more than worth the annual fee during the second.  If you have excellent credit and are looking to save money on travel, you can’t really go wrong with this card.  Believe it or not, the benefits continue, and you can contact us for more specifics on this product as sevearal of our staff use this card daily.

Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express

Ask any travel expert what top 3 cards are in their arsenal and the Starwood Preferred Guest® Credit Card from American Express will undoubtedly be one of them. If it isn’t, then you should reconsider who you consider a travel expert! This card comes with a 25,000 point signup bonus – 10,000 after your first purchase and another 15,000 after you spend $5,000 within the first 6 months of Cardmembership. Starwood points are extremely valuable because they are transferable to over 350 different airlines with no black out dates. In addition, you can redeem your Starpoints at over 1,100 hotels within their portfolio. Benefits don’t stop there. If you transfer 20,000 points or more to 1 of 30 partner frequent flyer programs, you’ll automatically earn an additional 5,000 Starpoints. Being a Starwood card holder grants you enrollment into the Starwood Preferred Guest program. Being a member gets you credit for 5 nights and 2 stays toward SPG elite status every year. That puts you 20 nights away from SPG Gold status and just 45 nights away for SPG Platinum status in a calendar year. The annual fee for this card is waived for the first year, and then becomes a low $65.  Learn about the full terms of this offer at the American Express’ SPG application page.

The US Airways Premier World MasterCard® by Barclaycard

We really like this card because of the hefty signup bonus it comes with. In addition, you get an Annual companion certificate which is good for round-trip travel for up to 2 companions at $99 each (plus taxes and fees). Also, Zone 2 priority boarding and first class check in. Earn 2x rewards with US Airways and 1x points on all other purchases. A friendly rewards hint – US Airways just merged with American, and that means all your reward points with US Airways, will merge with American. Hence, you can begin to amass a large amount of points on two carriers. We also recommend you take a look at the Citi® Platinum Select® / AAdvantage® Visa Signature® card – issued by Citibank and Co-Branded with American Airlines.
